EMC Wage Subsidy & Financial Incentive Programs for Manufacturers
With labour and skill shortages and the manufacturing workforce looking at significant retirements in the coming years, many manufacturers are turning to programs that assist them with connecting with youth or the next generation of manufacturing employees.
In this webinar, manufacturers will learn the eligibility details on how to receive up to $7,000 per hire through EMC's wage subsidy and financial incentive programs, available in Western Canada (BC, AB, SK & MB). We’ll cover three different programs and explain the next steps in the application process!
WILWorks Skilled Trades in Advanced Manufacturing, funded in part by the Government of Canada's Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy, offers up to $5,000 in wage subsidies per participant and provides introductory electrical and mechanical training. It is open to current employees and new hires aged 15 to 29. Designed with flexibility in mind, employers choose from a range of technical topics delivered through online self-directed e-learning and hands-on training, tailored to your organization's needs (https://emccanada.org/wilworks).
WILWorks Post Secondary Program, funded by the Government of Canada's Student Work Placement Program, offers up to $7,000 in wage subsidies per participant. EMC's WILWorks Post Secondary Program is designed to incentivize employers to offer more student positions than they did before leveraging funding.
The B.C. Youth in Manufacturing Initiative is open to manufacturers hiring youth between the ages of 16-24 who are either in high school, enrolled in a post-secondary program without a work-integrated learning or co-op component, or not currently pursuing education or training. This financial incentive is funded through the StrongerBC: Future Ready Action Plan and provides manufacturers with self-directed training for new hires and existing staff and up to $3500 per participant to offset hiring, training, and onboarding costs.
Opportunities & Funding
For nearly a decade, manufacturers have been using EMC’s Opportunity Alerts as a great way to grow their business finding qualified B2B sources from across Canada.
