Youth Hiring Initiatives for Manufacturers
In this webinar you will learn how you can receive up to $5,000 per hire through wage subsidies and financial incentives available in Western Canada (BC & AB) to manufacturers hiring talent in between the ages of 15-29. We’ll cover what the different programs available are, how you can apply and next steps to get involved!
WILWorks Skilled Trades in Advanced Manufacturing, funded in part by the Government of Canada's Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy, offers up to $5,000 in wage subsidies per participant and provides introductory electrical and mechanical training. It is open to current employees and new hires aged 15 to 29. Designed with flexibility in mind, employers choose from a range of technical topics delivered through online self-directed e-learning and hands-on training, tailored to your organization's needs (https://emccanada.org/wilworks).
The B.C. Youth in Manufacturing Initiative is open to manufacturers hiring youth between the ages of 16-21 who are not enrolled in post-secondary or training. This financial incentive is funded through the StrongerBC: Future Ready Action Plan and provides manufacturers with self-directed training for new hires and existing staff and up to $3500 per participant to offset hiring, training, and onboarding costs.
