In this session, Hicks Morley’s WSIB Practice Group Leader, Stephanie Savoni, will discuss existing tools employers can use as part of a comprehensive claims management strategy, including entitlement appeals, ongoing entitlement reviews and the application of WSIB policies addressing pre-existing conditions and aggravation of prior conditions. She will also highlight the importance of a robust return-to-work program, with a focus on safe and early return to work.

About Stephanie Savoni:

Stephanie Savoni, counsel in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office and chair of the firm’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Practice Group, provides advice and representation to employers on claims entitlement, return-to-work negotiations, re-employment matters, revenue issues, cost relief and benefit issues. She represents employers at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Appeals Services Division and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. A significant portion of her career was spent working for an agency of the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, where she specialized in providing advice and representation to Ontario employers in workplace safety and insurance matters.
