Making Impactful Ergonomics Improvements – MacGyver Style

Much like MacGyver, those in Health and Safety roles strive to protect the health and wellbeing of those around us. Many industries are feeling financial pressures, pushing us to dig deep into our toolboxes to find innovative ways to make an impact without heavy investment.

In this presentation, we will discuss how to leverage resources at your disposal to continue to build upon and improve your Ergonomics Program including:
1. How to empower employees to contribute to hazard identification and ergonomic solutions
2. How to identify training opportunities & employee best work practice techniques
3. How to make successful small incremental ergonomic changes

Upon completion, an Ergonomics Hazard Checklist will be available to assist you identify hazards and opportunities for ergonomics improvements.

About our speaker: Rachel Mitchell is a Canadian Certified Ergonomist (CCPE) with a Masters of Science in Human Factors Engineering and over 20 years of workplace ergonomics experience. Rachel was awarded the 2023 AEC & Liberty Mutual Practitioner of the Year Award for her ergonomics accomplishments, including the management of an ergonomic program at a large aerospace company, for which the company has been recognized as global leader, as well as her Ergonomics promotion work with Staples Canada.

Through her analytical approach to ergonomics assessments, her practical problem solving skills and her facilitation of hands-on education, Rachel’s work has positively impacted a wide range of sectors, from offices to manufacturing, warehousing, aerospace, energy and infrastructure, municipalities and transportation.
