About the Speakers:

Lori:

Dr. Lori Leach holds an interdisciplinary PhD in sociology and adult education and is passionate about inclusion, technology, and learning. She worked for 12 years as a therapeutic counsellor, and she has over 20 years in research and project management, focusing on access and equity. For the past decade, she has led strategic initiatives in New Brunswick’s Apprenticeship Branch, supporting learners facing barriers, including Indigenous peoples, newcomers, and women in trades. Since 2019, she has directed Canada’s Virtual Learning Strategy Program, providing personalized supports for neurodiverse learners. Lori also teaches at the University of New Brunswick in gender, technology, and women in STEM.

Corinna:

Dr. Corinna McFeaters began her career as a clinical mental health counselor, working with children and adults experiencing challenges with learning, attention, and mental health, before pursuing her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology at the University of New Brunswick, where she conducted research and taught courses on how the human brain uses information. Dr. McFeaters has been an important part of VLS since its conception, playing a key role in the development of online tools and the research supporting the program. She joined VLS full time in 2022, bringing her experience and knowledge to support program development, innovation, and analysis.
