Darrin didn’t start out building learning platforms; he started building businesses in manufacturing, hospitality/tourism, etc. For 22 years, he ran a very successful manufacturing business, called Trout River Industries in PEI, which specialized in manufacturing live bottom conveyor trailers.
In 2021, Darrin sold Trout River Industries and immediately established Mitchell Industries – a company that prides itself on developing innovative tools to support learning and training, like EMC’s Manufacturing Masters., built specifically for their audiences. Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium was one of the first organizations to partner with Mitchell Industries.
Throughout his career in manufacturing, Darrin kept a close lookout for opportunities, whether that be to continuously improve business processes or to expand his own business. Starting, growing and selling a successful and well-respected manufacturing business is a significant achievement. In this session, Darrin will take you through his journey – from start-up to sale. About the Presenter
After 22 years of operating a manufacturing business, Darrin sold his company and started Mitchell Industries, which develops learning management and training systems for industry and is a world leader in pre-boarding, onboarding and employee development. Mitchell Industries first flagship platform, Manufacturing Masters, currently has 2100 active users.
