Alberta's Plastics Industry - Tariffs and Support

Tariff volatility, resin pricing, supplier shifts, and changing demand are creating new planning challenges for Alberta’s plastics and polymer product manufacturers. EMC is hosting a webinar to explain how this sector study will generate workforce profiles and planning tools that can help employers better understand emerging labour market pressures.

The session will outline the research, the value of participation, and how employer input through the survey, interviews, and focus groups will ensure the findings are relevant to the sector. Employers who participate will contribute to outputs designed to be practical, sector-specific, and useful for decision making.

Participants will also hear from Peacock Tariff Consulting on current tariff measures affecting wood and forestry manufacturers, potential tariff refund and duty recovery opportunities, eligibility considerations, and practical strategies for identifying and pursuing refund claims.
