Alberta's Metal Industry - Tariffs and Support
Alberta’s metal manufacturing sector is operating in a highly tariff-sensitive environment, where steel and aluminum tariffs, rising input costs, supply chain disruption, and trade uncertainty can affect competitiveness, hiring, and workforce planning decisions. EMC is hosting a sector webinar to show how our new tariff impact labour market initiative will generate practical workforce profiles and planning tools tailored to the realities of metal manufacturers.
The session will explain how the study works, what participating employers can expect, and how industry input will contribute to practical, sector-specific insights and tools designed to support workforce planning and decision making in a rapidly changing operating environment.
Participants will also hear from Peacock Tariff Consulting on current tariff measures affecting metal manufacturers, potential tariff refund and duty recovery opportunities, eligibility considerations, and practical strategies for identifying and pursuing refund claims.
