Standard First Aid, Level C CPR/AED

Standard First Aid is the most commonly required training course in the workplace.
In addition to CPR, this course provides necessary skills to the first aider so that they are able to assist an individual in need until EMS arrives.
Each participant will be required to pass a multiple-choice test. Practical evaluations will be ongoing throughout the course. Participants will gain knowledge in the following areas:
- EMS / 911 System
- Legalities
- Disease management and biohazards
- Scene management
- Choking emergencies
- Medical emergencies
- Bleeding
- Shock
- Cardiovascular Disease – recognition and management
- Airway, Breathing, Circulation (ABCs) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR B)
- AED Overview
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Burns
- Head and spinal injuries
- Poisons and allergies
- Heat and cold injuries / illnesses
- Back and chest injuries
