The complicated nature of manufacturing can often lead to operational challenges, stifling an organization’s productivity and efficiency. Fortunately, a wide variety of tools for overcoming production issues have been developed for application in the modern manufacturing field. These resources can be utilized by employees in any role, department, or industry, and are a universally-applicable method of resolving any kind of problem.

In this course, participants will analyze a vast array of timely problem-solving methods, and determine how to employ them in their own workplaces. With the material discussed in this session, manufacturing workers can learn to identify problems before they arise, significantly expediting every step of the manufacturing process.

  • Properly utilizing an organization’s existing problem-solving resources.
  • Developing, implementing, and executing new problem-solving strategies.

  • The 5 Why Analysis
  • The Fishbone Diagram
  • Brainstorming Activities
  • Evaluating the impact of problem-solving efforts.

Course Outline:

  • Review of existing problem-solving processes.
  • Identifying the root causes of common manufacturing problems.
  • Understanding problem-solving strategies through workplace demonstrations.
  • Addressing the root causes of manufacturing issues through modern problem-solving resources.
