MEE Cluster and Access Prosperity Join Forces with Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) to Strengthen Western Canadian Manufacturing

[Red Deer, Alberta, July 10, 2025] – Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) of Canada, the nation’s largest manufacturing consortium, is proud to announce the formal integration of Central Alberta Access Prosperity and its flagship Manufacturing Export Enhancement Cluster (MEE Cluster) initiative into its national operations. This strategic move establishes EMC’s newest consortiums in Alberta and significantly expands its footprint across Western Canada.

The integration brings together local networks and sectoral expertise of Access Prosperity and the MEE Cluster with EMC’s Alberta network and proven national capabilities in deploying peer-to-peer learning and networking, energy and green manufacturing, workforce development initiatives, health and safety culture and productivity and innovation advancement initiatives.

The transition is guided by Access Prosperity’s 12 to 18-month plan to close, with the continuation of manufacturing membership, legacy resources and programming under EMC’s industry led consortiums across Alberta. This collaborative effort was formalized under a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

“This is an important milestone for manufacturing communities across Alberta.” said Jean-Pierre Giroux, President, EMC. “By joining forces, we are combining regional strength with national reach, providing greater value to industry, better connectivity with the Canadian manufacturing ecosystem, and delivering more transformative solutions for manufacturers through world-class training, digital enablement, and operational excellence.”

As part of this integration, EMC will continue service and support of the existing MEE Cluster network while introducing a broader portfolio of national programming. “Our mission at Access Prosperity has always been to support the growth of Alberta’s manufacturers,” added David Rist, Executive Director, Access Prosperity. “This new alliance with EMC opens the doors to scalable impact, new opportunities, and enduring support for manufacturers across the province.”

EMC has a robust schedule of industry events, programs and resources being rolled out in the coming months.
