A National Health & Safety Network Initiative
Step Up Your Safety for Manufacturing
EMC is launching a national health and safety partnership to address health and safety gaps by introducing a dynamic series of safety awareness modules using practical, job-specific safety strategies for enhancing health and safety culture, in Canadian manufacturing workplaces.
We are proud to announce a new partnership with leading safety advocate Candace Carnahan, whose powerful personal story has inspired thousands to rethink their approach to workplace safety and take proactive steps to prevent injury. The Step Up Your Safety for Manufacturing program responds to a clear and growing need across Canada’s manufacturing sector: improving the effectiveness of safety culture and modernizing how we prepare all employees—not just new hires—for safe, responsible, and empowered work. While many organizations offer onboarding programs, manufacturers continue to face challenges in reinforcing safety values over time and across roles. This initiative goes beyond initial orientation, supporting continuous engagement and shared accountability for safety in every environment.
By working together, we are building more than just a safety program—we’re fostering a culture of leadership, ownership, and care that supports healthier, more resilient manufacturing communities across the country.
