Glenn Bostock | CEO & Founder of SnapCab

Talk Summary
In 1970 Milton Friedman published an influential article that said, “there is one and only one social responsibility of business—to use its resources and engage in activities designed to increase its profits.”

We think there’s a better way. Because while profit is certainly a crucial element of business, it’s not what business is actually about. Business is about human beings. The customers of a business are human beings, the employees are human beings, the owners are human beings, and the society from which, and for which business emerges, is composed of human beings. A world of human beings is no place for a soulless, profit-at-all-costs automaton.

If your business doesn’t see its employees as human, no one will want to work for you. If your business doesn’t see its customers as human, no one will want to buy from you. To truly have a business that is compatible with human beings, you need to have a business that is human.

About the Speaker
Glenn Bostock’s story is one of remarkable success, shaped by his experiences with learning disabilities and adversity during his school years. Glenn went on to found SnapCab which manufactures simple-to-install elevator interiors and award-winning custom privacy pods.

Bostock’s unique philosophy of embracing failure and seeing challenges as opportunities for growth has been instrumental in creating the workplace environment he has built. His ability to foster a culture that follows the company’s values of being kind, authentic, and useful has helped propel SnapCab’s impressive growth and success across two manufacturing facilities located in the United States and Canada.

About the Book
From Factory Floor to Forbes — SnapCab CEO to Launch Business Leadership Book
Glenn Bostock, local Kingston business leader and Founder/CEO of SnapCab, has spent decades building more than just products — he’s built a purpose-driven company culture that empowers people, embraces change, and leads with integrity.

Now, he’s bringing those hard-earned lessons to the page.

After years of leading SnapCab from a humble garage to an internationally recognized manufacturing innovator, Glenn is launching his first business leadership book, sharing the real-world insights and principles that helped guide his company through massive growth and transformative pivots.

Forbes Books has taken notice — they’ll be publishing Glenn’s book, marking a powerful moment for a Kingston-based voice to influence the global business community.

But this book is just one part of a larger conversation — one that many forward-thinking business leaders are ready to have. Glenn’s goal is to share what he’s learned and create a space where others can do the same. Through speaking engagements and peer leadership groups, he’s working to grow a community of purpose-driven leaders who believe in building businesses that are not only successful but purposeful, centered around real human experience – celebrating failures, cultivating kindness, and more.  If you’re a business owner or executive who values integrity, innovation, and impact, there’s room at the table for you. Whether you’re interested in joining a leadership group, attending a talk, or simply connecting with others on the same path — this is your invitation to be part of the conversation.

This is more than a book.  It’s a movement — built right here in Kingston.
