Best Practices – a common theme in manufacturing, are important to help us conceptualize manufacturing challenges and targets. But all too often, they are taken as an absolute standard and important differences in manufacturing modes and constraints are not considered. This inevitably leads to a failure to gain from the underlying principles and adapt them successfully into our operations.
