Burnout and Bias
Burnout is often discussed as an issue of workload and stress, but workplace inequities, exclusion, and bias also play a significant role in who experiences burnout, how it manifests, and whose well-being is overlooked.
Participants will examine how factors such as bias, microaggressions, emotional labour, lack of belonging, inequitable workloads, and “covering” behaviours contribute to exhaustion and disengagement, particularly for equity-deserving groups. The workshop also explores how leaders and organizations can redesign workplace practices, communication norms, and team expectations to foster healthier, more sustainable work environments where people can thrive.
