All Sectors - Tariffs and Support

Tariff volatility, changing input costs, supplier shifts, border and customs complexities, and evolving customer demand are creating new planning challenges for manufacturers across Alberta.

EMC is hosting a webinar to explain how its Tariff Impact Labour Market Information project will identify how these pressures are affecting Alberta manufacturers and generate practical workforce information and planning tools to support employer decision making.

Virtual

Participants will hear from Peacock Tariff Consulting on current tariff measures affecting manufacturers, potential tariff refund and duty recovery opportunities, eligibility considerations, and practical strategies for identifying and pursuing refund claims. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask questions about the tariff and trade issues affecting their businesses.

The session will provide an overview of the research, the value of employer participation, and how input through the survey, interviews, focus groups, and needs assessments will help ensure the findings reflect what Alberta manufacturers are experiencing. Employer participation will contribute to practical resources designed to help manufacturers better understand emerging tariff-related pressures, assess potential workforce and business impacts, and plan for greater resilience.
