MEC: Supporting Learning Differences

EMC’s Supporting Learning Differences project aims to enhance the capacity of the manufacturing sector to support employees with learning differences. This national initiative will provide employers with access to customized supports, resources, and growth opportunities to support employees facing learning differences.

Project objectives are to:

  • Conduct research to understand the scope of learning differences in the sector and unique challenges faced by employers and employees in the workplace
  • Provide manufacturing employees with tools and supports to excel in foundational skills development through new and innovative approaches to identify and address learning differences
  • Provide employers with access to a toolkit of industry-validated resources designed to allow manufacturers create equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplaces.
  • Create awareness within the sector, share best practices, and strategies for accommodation to provide employers with the tools to build supportive and inclusive workplaces.
