Project Manager
Language: Bilingual
Position Type: Contract
Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000 depending on experience and qualifications
Are you a natural relationship builder who loves connecting people, managing impactful projects, and creating opportunities for youth? Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) is looking for an energetic Project Manager to lead our Youth in Manufacturing and Enhanced Co-op initiatives across New Brunswick.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between high school students, educators, and local manufacturers—helping young people discover rewarding manufacturing careers while supporting the province’s growing industrial workforce.
Position Overview
The Project Manager, Youth & Manufacturing Engagement will lead the delivery of EMC’s New Brunswick Youth in Manufacturing initiative and support the continued development and delivery of the Enhanced Co-op Program. The Project Manager will also work closely alongside EMC’s New Brunswick Manufacturing Consortium Manager, leveraging existing relationships with manufacturers across the province and coordinating employer outreach and engagement activities.
This is a hands-on role combining project management, employer engagement, education and community partnerships, and youth workforce development. The successful candidate will serve as a key EMC representative in New Brunswick, working directly with manufacturers, schools, government, employment service providers and community partners to create meaningful employment and work-integrated learning opportunities for youth.
The ideal candidate will be an energetic relationship builder who is equally comfortable visiting a manufacturing facility, working with educators and students, engaging government partners, and managing the day-to-day requirements of government-funded projects.
This opportunity offers:
- Combination of home-office work and in-the-field activities, including onsite meetings, school and manufacturer visits, event facilitation and stakeholder meetings.
- Home office must be based within New Brunswick.
- Regular travel throughout the province is required.
- Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle required.
- Occasional travel outside New Brunswick for EMC meetings, events or training may be required.
Responsibilities
Relationship Building & Community Outreach
- Build strong relationships with New Brunswick manufacturers, educators, government agencies, and community groups to promote and expand participation in EMC youth programs.
- Engage with schools, teachers, and youth to raise awareness of manufacturing pathways and match students’ career goals with hands-on workplace opportunities.
- Represent EMC at career fairs, school activities, and employer events to showcase program successes and attract new partners.
Program Delivery & Student Support
- Support the full recruitment lifecycle including screening, matching, onboarding, and supporting youth within participating manufacturing sites.
- Conduct site visits and maintain active communication with students, employers, and schools to ensure successful, safe placement experiences.
- Coordinate student completion of EMC learning modules (e.g., Manufacturing Foundations, Lean Fundamentals, Introduction to AI in Manufacturing) prior to their workplace terms.
Project Management & Administration
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, performance targets, and participant outcomes, ensuring accurate tracking in EMC’s CRM and project management systems.
- Other related duties may be assigned as required to support successful program delivery.
Education and Experience:
- Proven ability to build trust and communicate confidently in both French and English across diverse groups, including students and educators, manufacturing executives, and government partners.
- 2–5 years of experience coordinating projects or workforce development initiatives (ideally within education, employment services, or manufacturing)
- A proactive problem-solver who can handle multiple priorities, track program targets, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and comfortable using CRM or project management platforms for reporting.
- Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent practical experience. Knowledge of youth employment programs, high school co-op pathways, or government-funded initiatives is a strong asset.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout New Brunswick, hold a valid driver’s license, and obtain a clear criminal record check. (Must be legally entitled to work in Canada).
