Scissor Lift Training

During this course, participants receive thorough instruction on all aspects of scissor lift usage, driving, and operation, and examine the various Health and Safety rules, requirements, and regulations that must be observed when doing so. Course activities allow participants to apply their knowledge through an operational evaluation.

Course Summary:

Scissor lifts are a useful tool for ascending to great heights quickly and easily, and are common across all forms of manufacturing environments. Without being properly operated, though, scissor lifts can cause damage to people, property, or production materials, and can significantly harm an organization’s efficiency and output.

During this course, participants receive thorough instruction on all aspects of scissor lift usage, driving, and operation, and examine the various Health and Safety rules, requirements, and regulations that must be observed when doing so. Course activities also identify the fall protection equipment that workers are required to use in conjunction with scissor lifts, and allow participants to apply their knowledge through an operational evaluation.

  • Understanding Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act guidelines surrounding scissor lift usage.
  • Qualifications needed to properly operate a scissor lift.
  • Potential hazards that can be encountered when using a scissor lift.
  • Ensuring safety while operating a scissor lift through consistently-applied precautions, maintenance activities, and preventative actions.
  • Utilizing fall protection equipment, tools, and resources when using a scissor lift.
  • Participant comprehension of course material.
