About the Program

EMC’s Green Skills in Manufacturing Certification Training is an industry driven program designed to help Canadian manufacturers and other related sectors, to prepare for a more rapid transition to a green and low carbon net zero, clean manufacturing ecosystem.

This program combines hybrid approach, delivering expert virtual instruction by subject matter leaders in the field with hands on application of the skills learned deployed each week in your own production facility. Providing energy management and green essentials, this program will enable participants to learn, understand, plan implement and repeat effective sustainability solutions manufacturers need.

EMC’s Green Skills in Manufacturing Certification Training will be delivered in 8 modules, over 8 weeks at 3 hours per module and will include a Workplace Performance Project (WPP) designed to identify and achieve results. Total time for participant completion is estimated at under 40 hours 3hrs x 8 modules 24 hours up to 16 hours for WPP.

Workplace Performance Project

Participants work to identify a problem or opportunity within their organization and use problem solving methodology and tools to execute a Workplace Performance Project. Participants gain hands-on experience with problem solving, project management, and how to work effectively as a team by building off of each other’s strengths. This project provides participants with knowledge, tools, and confidence to use for future improvement opportunities.

This program provides skills training using industry validated content and an action-based workplace performance project. Sessions can be run in a cluster format –the blend of several different organizations in one session, or in a stand-alone format –private to just your organization. The program is offered in both online and in-person formats; both of which include ongoing support from professional trainers.

Upon successful completion of this certification training, participants receive Manufacturing Essentials Certification and an industry recognized Green Skills micro credential.

Who is best suited for this program

This program is recommended for manufacturing managers, supervisors, team and program delivery leaders, that are directly responsible for energy management, sustainable manufacturing and measuring and implementing GHG emissions and carbon footprint reduction initiatives.
