Forklift Safety Training

Forklifts must be well-understood to prevent accidents during operation. During this session, participants receive a thorough introduction to all aspects of forklift usage. To confirm participants’ comprehension of course material, this session also includes a forklift driving exercise, providing workers with the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned.

Course Summary:

Forklifts are one of the most commonly-utilized pieces of heavy machinery in a manufacturing environment and, as such, must be well-understood to prevent accidents during operation. During this session, participants receive a thorough introduction to all aspects of forklift usage, discuss proper Health and Safety protocol surrounding these machines, and analyze the impact that forklifts have on a production line.

To confirm participants’ comprehension of course material, this session also includes a forklift driving exercise, providing workers with the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in a controlled environment and receive training certification. This course is specialized for manufacturing employees or supervisors that perform their duties using or near forklifts in a wide variety of environments and situations.

  • Legal requirements surrounding forklift usage.
  • Forklift-related accidents — their causes and effects.
  • Hazards to proper forklift operation.
  • Ensuring co-workers’ safety when using a forklift.
  • Effective forklift maintenance strategies.

Course Outline:

  • Basic forklift operation protocol.
  • Analysis of forklift safety practices.
  • Examination of forklift components: fuel, equipment, supplemental energy sources.
  • Proper forklift driving practices — maintaining balance, speed, and clearance.
  • Course comprehension exercise: forklift driving evaluation.

DURATION: One (1) Six-Hour Session + Evaluation
