This training program includes the following 4 courses:

Course 1: Automation

We will explore the definition, history and current state of automation in manufacturing and the important role that skilled trades hold in supporting this technology.

Course 2: Robotics & Advanced Motion Systems

Using robots in manufacturing is not new, but “cobots” are! This new class of robots can safely work alongside people and are expanding the use of robots in manufacturing. We will explore the current state of robotics and other coordinated motion in manufacturing that will reveal what modern manufacturing facilities have in common and how robotics will affect a career in manufacturing in the coming decade.

Course 3: Additive Manufacturing

There is a lot of talk about additive manufacturing today. This technology, better known as 3D printing, is the future of manufacturing. It allows for more complex and profitable products to be produced with smaller batches and lower inventory levels. Additionally, it reduces waste and improves product quality. We will explore the current state of additive manufacturing and discover what is common in modern manufacturing facilities, and how additive manufacturing will affect a career in manufacturing in the coming decade.

Course 4: Data & Connectivity

Unlike in the Internet world the data in manufacturing is being used to directly affect the operation of a manufacturing facility. We hear the word ‘dataʹ all the time and usually with negative connotations around collection and use of our personal data. Advanced Manufacturing deals with process and performance data rather than personal data. We will explore the current state of data and artificial intelligence (AI) in manufacturing and discover the advantages it brings in modern manufacturing facilities, and how this technology will affect a career in manufacturing in the coming decade.
