Seventy-five years ago on March 5, my grandfather with the support of my grandmother founded Oetiker as a one-employee mechanical workshop in a small wood-shingled house in Horgen, Switzerland.
The business has grown tremendously from this humble beginning, with almost 2000 employees in 28 countries around the world providing nearly 2 billion clamps, rings, straps, quick connects and thermal management products annually and contributing to the safe driving and operation of 90 million vehicles globally.
Over the course of 2017, we will take some time to celebrate our achievements and successes and to commemorate this major milestone. And while I think this is important, I think it is equally if not more important to look ahead to our future.
