In this role, you will report to the Director of Manufacturing Initiatives to develop, implement, and coordinate a new program EMC will be launching this Spring, in Atlantic Canada, aimed at creating awareness of the manufacturing industry and expanding skills and pathways to employment for youth (15-29) with manufacturing employers. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with youth and has experience in education or manufacturing.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated success in project coordination and exceptional communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The position will be based in Moncton, New Brunswick.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with EMC’s Manufacturing Consortium Managers (MCMs) in Atlantic Canada to promote the Program to EMC members and non-member companies.
- Communicate the Program to key stakeholders in education, community and economic development, and government.Promote and engage youth (15-29), parents, and other key influencers.
- Facilitate close cooperation with all project partners to ensure a consistently high level of service delivery.
- Liaise with service providers and external stakeholders.
- Support youth participants and manufacturing employers.
- Track progress against program/project plans and specific targets.
- Explore new program opportunities through external partnerships.
- Attend events to present the Program.
- Work proactively with internal EMC teams to collaborate on activities, share information and provide updates to senior management.
- Participate in project evaluation and stakeholder follow-up.
- Provide administrative support and documentation.
What we are looking for:
- The ideal candidate has experience in secondary or post-secondary education or the manufacturing industry.
- Two to five years’ experience in coordinating activities, with demonstrated success in setting and achieving program targets and managing tight timelines.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
- Detail-oriented, with exceptional communication skills (written and oral).
- Post-secondary education in Education, Human Resources, Business or other related fields; OR, has commensurate experience in education or manufacturing and/or equivalent knowledge and abilities.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools.
- Knowledge and experience in secondary or post-secondary education or manufacturing are considered assets.
- Able to travel within Atlantic Canada.
- Able to obtain a clear criminal record check.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
